Cornell graduate Jorge Pesquera will be the new President and Chief Executive Officer
of the Palm Beach County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Since 2004, Pesquera was the President and Chief Executive Officer of the
Aruba Hotel and Tourism Association. He also spent ten years as President and Chief
Executive Officer of the Puerto Rico
Convention Bureau. Pesquera also
logged four years as Senior Vice President Human Resources for Conrad
International, following fourteen years
as Director of Human Resources for Hilton International.
Bruce Duncan has temporarily stepped into the
Starwood Chief Executive Officer job
when Steve Heyer recently resigned.
He continues his services as Chairman, a position he has held since 2005. Duncan
previously held executive level positions at Equity
Residential, the Cadillac Fairview
Corporation and JMB
Realty.
Donald Trump has named Mark Juliano head of Trump Entertainment Resorts. He previously served as President of Caesars
Palace in Las Vegas and
Caesars Atlantic
City.
John Rolfs has been appointed General Manager of the
Ritz-Carlton Lake Las Vegas. A
Cornell graduate, he has been with the company for eighteen years, most recently
as Area Vice President of the Ritz-Carlton Hotels of Miami and General Manager of the Ritz-Carlton South
Beach. He also served as Area General
Manager of the Ritz-Carlton Hotels of New Orleans and Area General Manager at the Ritz-Carltons
Boston.
Nicholas
Simmonds has been appointed Operations
Director for Island Outpost to add
to his current responsibilities as Managing Director of
Goldeneye in Jamaica. He previously
served as General Manager of Cotton House and the Blue Mountain Lodge, as well as Hotel Manager at Parrot
Cay.
Hilton has promoted Andrew Stegen to General Manager of the Arizona
Biltmore, taking over from Sean
Maddock. Stegen was previously the
Director of Operations at the resort. He had joined the property after several
years with Loews, where he served as
Executive Assistant Manager at the Loews Santa Monica and the Loews Coronado, following a stint at the Loews Le
Concorde in
Canada.
John
Strozdas has joined green hotelier
Deidre Wallace’s Ambrose
Group in Santa Monica as Chief
Operating Officer. He previously served as Area General Manager for Méridien
Hotels and Resorts and as Vice
President Operations, the Americas, for Mandarin Oriental.
Chilean national
Andres Araya has left his
position of Managing Director at Ty Warner’s Las
Ventanas al Paraiso (a
Rosewood Resort) to
become the Chief Operating Officer of Logan International Hotels
and
Resorts in Mexico.
Araya had originally joined Las Ventanas as Resort Manager in 2004. He was
previously the Executive Assistant Manager Director of Food and Beverage at the
Ajman Kempinski in the United
Arab Emirates.
Fernando Gibaja
has left
Ritz-Carlton after twelve years to
become the General Manager of Fiesta Americana’s Grand Aqua Cancun. He most recently served as Executive Assistant Manager
Food and Beverage at the Ritz-Carlton Millenia Singapore following a stint in the same position at the
Ritz-Carlton Palm Beach.
Shelton Sugar has been promoted to Senior Vice President and General
Manager of the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in Washington, DC. He was most recently the Vice
President and Hotel Manager at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention
Center.
Jeffry Humes has joined Pink Sands in the Bahamas as Managing Director. He is a former
Island Manager for the Meridian Club
in the Turks and Caicos and Peter Island in the British Virgin Islands. Humes is a Cornell
graduate.
Lyle Pauls has joined the Carlton Savannah in Trinidad as General Manager. He was most recently
the General Manager at the Royal Antiguan Beach Resort in
Antigua. Previously, he was with Starwood for 15 years in such positions as the General Manager
at the W Union Square, the General
Manager of the Tremont and the
Raphael Hotels in Chicago, the Hotel
Manager of the Sheraton New Orleans
and the Director of Operations at the Westin Ottawa.
Richard Behr
has joined the Pointe South Mountain
in Phoenix as General Manager. He was most recently the General Manager at
Miramonte in Indian Wells and
previously served as General Manager at the Hilton
Scottsdale.
Frank
Ashmore has been promoted by the
West Paces Group to the position of
General Manager of the Carefree Resort and Villas. He was most recently the Director of Sales and
Marketing for various properties within West Paces, including Solis Hotels
and Resorts and the Hotel
Montelucia in Phoenix (now an
InterContinental). He previously
served as Director of Sales and Marketing at the Ritz-Carlton
Phoenix and the Ritz-Carlton
Dearborn.
Judson Hawk is the new General Manager at the Hotel
Jerome in Aspen. For the past seven
years, he had been the General Manager at the Ritz-Carlton Club Aspen
Highlands. He was previously the
General Manager at the Lodge and Spa at Cordillera. Nicholas DiMeglio, a former General Manager at the Williamsburg
Inn, took over from Hawk as General
Manager of the Ritz-Carlton Club.
Mexico-born Hermann
Elger has been promoted to General
Manager of the Ritz-Carlton Cancun,
taking over from long-time General Manager Luis Marco. For the past four years, Elger served as the resort’s
Hotel Manager after joining in 1998 as Assistant Executive Manager in charge of
Rooms.
Kristin Timmer
has been named General Manager of the
Delafield Hotel in Wisconsin. She
was most recently the Director of Catering at the Pfister in Milwaukee.
Simon Chen has joined the Beaver Creek Lodge as General Manager. He most recently served as Chief Operating Officer for Skylar Management in Denver. Previously, he worked for Ritz-Carlton in Bachelor Gulch, Tyson's Corner, Naples, Puerto Rico, Buckhead and Sydney.
Ellen Miller has joined the Wyndham Bourbon
Orleans as General Manager. For the
past four years, she had been the General Manager at the Crescent
Hotel in Beverly Hills. Previously, she
served as General Manager at both Hotels Oceana in Santa Barbara and Santa Monica, and the
Avalon in Beverly
Hills.
Hans Altenhoff has been
appointed General Manager of the recently opened Sheraton Cable Beach
Resort in Nassau. For the past five years, he was the General Manager of the
Sheraton Bal Harbor. Altenhoff has also served as General Manager at the
Princeville Resort on Kauai and the Palace in San
Francisco.
The Renaissance Waverly Hotel has named Joseph
Uhl General Manager. Uhl is a 27-year Marriott veteran who most
recently served as Area General Manager for the St. Louis market and for the
Detroit market.
Dennis Nau has been
named Vice President of Brand Operations for the new Nickelodeon Resorts by
Marriott. He was the General Manager of
the New York Marriott East Side. He
joined Marriott in 1985 and has held various global positions with the company
including General Manager of the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort and Spa
and Hotel Manager of the New York Marriott Marquis.
Nicholas Gold has been appointed Resort Manager at the Enchantment
Resort in Sedona. He comes from
Miraval in Tucson where he was the
Food and Beverage Director.
Robert Love moves to the Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman as Director of Finance. He was most recently in a
similar position at the San Juan Marriott.
At
Rosewood, Mauricio
Manrique returns to
Acqualina as Director of Finance. He
was the Assistant Controller at the resort from 2004 to 2006 before a promotion
to the Inn of the Anasazi as
Financial Controller. Manrique had previously overseen the finances at
Rosewood’s Little Dix Bay,
Badrutt’s Palace and the
Bristol in Panama City.
Biras Creek
Resort on Virgin Gorda has promoted
Anghel George to Chief Financial
Officer. A 23-year veteran of the resort, he previously held the position of
Controller and in-house IT Manager.
Wolfgang
Wehen becomes the Director of
Operations at the W Union
Square. For the past two years, he
served as Director of Food and Beverage at the W New York. Previously, he worked as the Assistant Director of
Food and Beverage at the Westin Diplomat and as the Assistant Director of Food and Beverage at
Turnberry Isle Resort & Club,
now a Fairmont.
Mark
Choon has been promoted to Executive
Assistant Manager, Rooms, at the Peninsula Chicago. He joined the hotel in pre-opening in 2001 as Night
Manager and, during his more than six years there, has been promoted several
times within the Front Office. He was most recently the Rooms Division Manager
for the hotel.
The Peninsula
Chicago has promoted Oliver
Dudler to the position of Executive
Assistant Manager, Food and Beverage. He joined the company in 1995 as Western
Sous-Chef at the Repulse Bay Hotel
in Hong Kong. After working as
Executive Chef at the Peninsula New York, he transferred to Chicago in 2003 as Assistant
Director of Food and Beverage and became the Director of Food and Beverage in
2005.
Nancy
Paliani has transferred to the
Ritz-Carlton Rancho Mirage as
Director of Food and Beverage. She rejoins Brad Jencks who was her General Manager at her most recent position
as Director of Food and Beverage at the Ritz-Carlton St.
Thomas. Paliani had previously served
as Director of Food and Beverage at La Costa and as Assistant Food and Beverage Director at the
Grand Wailea Resort.
Mike Glynn has joined the Lodge at Pebble Beach as Director of Food and Beverage. He most recently held
a similar post at Fess Parker’s Doubletree Resort in Santa Barbara. He previously oversaw food and
beverage operations at the Lodge and Club at Ponte Vedra and for the PGA Tour Golf Course
Properties.
The Beaver Creek
Lodge has appointed Brian
Haemmerle Director of Food and Beverage
for both the Beaver Creek Lodge and its restaurant Rocks Modern
Grill. He was most recently the Director of Food and Beverage
at the Elk Mountain Resort. Prior to
that, he was the Director of Restaurants at the Vail Cascade
Resort.
David
Sanchez has joined the Mansion on
Forsyth Park in Savannah as Food and
Beverage Director. He was most recently the Executive Assistant Manager in
charge of Food and Beverage at the Ritz-Carlton Lodge Reynolds
Plantation, after joining the property
in 2003 as Assistant Director of Food and Beverage. Sanchez previously spent
eleven years with Hilton.
Global Hyatt
has appointed Robb Webb
Chief Human Resources Officer. He joins
from Citi where he was most recently
Head of Global Service Delivery for Citi Employee Services. Prior to that, he
held several senior human resources roles in the Citi Global Consumer
Group.
Gail
Campagna has been named Director of
Human Resources at the Stowe Mountain Lodge. She previously served as Human Resources Director for
the Radisson Burlington, the
Basin Harbor Club and the Wyndham
Burlington. In 2005 she joined
Regent as Human Resources Manager
for Regent Seven Seas Cruise Ships,
before serving as Senior Human Resources Manager at the
Regent Palms
Resort in Turks and
Caicos.
Richard Mirman has been appointed Executive Vice President, Chief
Marketing Officer at Kerzner International. Most recently, Mirman worked for
Harrah's, a company he joined
in 1998.
The Morgans Hotel Group has appointed Scott Williams Chief Marketing Officer. He joins from
Starwood, where he has served as
Chief Creative Officer, Senior Vice President Advertising since 1999. He
previously held creative roles at CBS Eye on People, ESPN Classic Sports Network and HBO.
Scott Evans has been named Vice President Sales and Marketing at
etc Hotels in Santa Monica,
responsible for Shutters on the Beach, Casa del Mar and Santa Barbara’s Hotel Andalucia. He previously served as Director of Sales and
Marketing at the Ritz-Carlton Lake Las Vegas, the Laguna Beach Colony Hotel (better known today as the Montage
Resort), the Ritz-Carlton San
Juan, the Hotel Arts
Barcelona and, most recently, the
Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel.
Sam Zabawsky
joins Boykin Management as Vice
President of Sales and Revenue Management. He was most recently the Director of
Sales and Marketing at the Sand Pearl Resort in Florida. He has also served as Director of Resort
Marketing at the Sea Pines Resort
and as Regional Director of Sales and Marketing for Wyndham.
Tyler McDonald was appointed Director of Sales and Marketing at the
Hilton Anatole in Dallas. He
originally joined Hilton in 1999 as Director of Sales and Marketing for the
Doubletree Dallas Lincoln Center. After
two years, he moved to Austin as Director of Sales and Marketing at the
Hilton Austin.
James
Keaveny has been appointed Director of
Sales at the Hilton
Anatole. He was most recently the
Director of Sales at the Hyatt Regency DFW.
Trish Kopera returns to the Peninsula Chicago as Director of West Coast Group Sales, based in Los
Angeles. She had been part of the pre-opening team for the hotel, joining in
April 2001 as Sales Manager. She left briefly in April of this year to take a
position as Director of Sales for Raffles L'Ermitage in Beverly Hills.
Elaine Gamer has joined the Nylo Hotel in Plano, Texas, as Director of Sales and Marketing.
She was most recently the Director of Sales at the W
Dallas-Victory and previously served as
the Director of Sales and Marketing at the Westin Calgary.
The Ritz-Carlton Club St.
Thomas has named Ralph
Mottinger Director of Sales and
Marketing. He previously served as Director of Sales at
Kapalua and worked in the
pharmaceutical industry for both Bayer and Wyeth.
Kim Westhoff, who has
been with the Arizona Biltmore since 1993, has been appointed to the
newly created position of Director of Luxury Accounts for Hilton Hotels’
Waldorf=Astoria Collection and Conrad Hotels. She has been the
Director of Travel Industry Sales at the Biltmore for the past ten

joined the Millenium Biltmore in Los Angeles as Director of Sales and
Marketing. He recently spent two years as Director of Sales and Marketing at the

The Brazilian Court
has appointed Cynthia
Ekonomou Director of Sales and
Marketing. She was most recently the Director of Sales and Marketing at the
GulfStream Hotel in Lake Worth. She

Monica
Schyck moves over to the Gaylord
Palms as Director of Sales, taking over
from Tina Sampson who has been
promoted to Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the new Gaylord
National Resort and Convention Center
in Prince George’s County, Maryland. For the past twelve years, Schyck had been
at the Gaylord Opryland Resort in
Nashville, most recently as Director of Executive Sales.
The Grand Del
Mar has tapped Sunday
Spencer as its new Director of Leisure
Sales. She was most recently the National Sales Manager for Pebble Beach
Resorts. Previously, she has served as
Director of Sales and Marketing for the Highlands Inn, a Park Hyatt Hotel in Carmel and as the Associate Director of Sales for
the Hyatt Regency Monterey.
Jennifer Dunne has been appointed Vice President of Public Relations
and Advertising for Wynn Resorts,
replacing Denise Randazzo
who has left the company. Dunne joined
the hotel 2006 as Vice President of Entertainment Marketing and
Sales.
Chris
Kandziora has been promoted to Director
of Sales and Marketing at Miramonte.
He originally joined the resort in 2004 as Director of Group Sales, a promotion
from the position of Associate Director of Sales at (then) sister property the
Crowne Plaza Northstar in
Minneapolis.
Fabio
Trabocchi has joined Fiamma
Osteria in New York as Chef/Partner,
succeeding Michael White, who has
moved to Alto and
L’Impero as Executive Chef. For the
past seven years, Trabocchi has served as Executive Chef for award-winning
Maestro at the Ritz-Carlton
Tyson’s Corner. Previously, he was
based in London as Executive Chef at Floriana Restaurant and the Grissini London Restaurant at the former Hyatt Carlton Tower.
Thierry
Debailleul has been appointed Executive
Chef at Foxwoods in Connecticut. He
was formerly the Executive Chef of the Pointe South Mountain in Phoenix. Prior to that, he opened the Westin
Stonebriar in Texas as Executive

Resort on Virgin Gorda has promoted
Jermaine “Monk” George to Executive
Chef. For the past eleven years, he served at the resort as the
Sous-Chef.
Ruben
Tanuz is once again the Executive Chef
at El Monte Sagrado in Taos where he
was previously the Chef de Cuisine from January 2005 to January 2007, then
promoted to Executive Chef. He

Landolt Executive Pastry Chef. He had
previously served as Pastry Chef at Caesar’s Tahoe and most recently at Harrah’s/Harvey’s Hotel &

Andrew
Broderick has joined the Omni
Downtown Los Angeles as Director of
Rooms. He was most recently at Casa Del Mar in Santa Monica as Front Office Manager. He has

Bryan
Bourgeois has joined the Westin
Riverwalk in San Antonio as Director of
Rooms. He was previously with Four Seasons for eight years, serving as Director of Rooms for both

Director of Rooms at the Four Seasons New York.
Pradeep
Raman has been promoted to Manager of
Food and Beverage at the Peninsula Chicago. He joined the property in 2003 as Lobby Manager and,
after a stint at the Peninsula Hong Kong as Assistant Manager Food and Beverage, returned to
Chicago in the position of Assistant Director of Food and Beverage.
The Four Seasons San
Francisco has appointed Sébastien
Duclos Restaurant Manager of Seasons
Restaurant. He joined the company in
2002 at the Four Seasons Toronto and
has held various food and beverage positions at the Four Seasons New
York and the Four Seasons Hotel des
Bergues in
Geneva.
The Whiteface Lodge
in Lake Placid has appointed Phyllis
Leslie Director of Spa and Wellness.
She most recently served as Spa Manager at the Spa at Whitefish
Lake in Montana.
Irene Lim has been appointed Director of Spa at the Four
Seasons Silicon
Valley. She previously was the Spa
and Wellness Director at the Hotel Hana Maui and
Honua Spa.
Kirsten
Wilkens-Combs is the new Spa Director
at the Enchantment Resort Mii Amo Spa. She previously held various spa management positions
at the Ballantyne Resort in
Charlotte and the Sandestin Hilton.
Cleo Bradley was promoted at Biras Creek Resort to Rooms Division Manager. For the past twenty years,
she has held various positions at the resort, most recently as Reservations
Manager.
EUROPE
Paul White has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer
of Orient-Express, replacing
Simon Sherwood. White had left
Orient-Express merely two months ago after sixteen years, to accept an
opportunity with a London investment firm. He had been the Chief Financial
officer at Orient-Express since September 2005.
John Brennan leaves Four Seasons after 23 years to work for Quinlan
Private, the owners of the Four
Seasons Dublin where Brennan has been
the General Manager and Regional Vice President since opening. He joined the
company in 1984 in London and has previously been based at Four Seasons hotels
in Philadelphia, Dallas, Toyko, and Regent hotels in London, Hong Kong and Kuala
Lumpur.
At the Ritz-Carlton
Berlin, Thorsten
Ries takes over from Rainer
Burkle as General Manager. Ries, the
former General Manager of the Ritz-Carlton Doha, had
recently been promoted to Area General Manager for Qatar. Before Doha, he served
as General Manager of the Ritz-Carlton Sharm El Sheik.
Jean-Claude
Bailly has been named Chief Executive
Officer of Geneva-based Kempinski Residences. He spent five years as Chief Executive Officer of
Les Roches Hotel Management School
in Switzerland. He was also the Chief Executive Officer of the Aga
Khan’s Serena Hotels, following twelve years with
Méridien.
Lausanne graduate Beatrice
Belehradek is leaving her position of
General Manager at Paris' Hotel Lutetia to become the General Manager of the Sofitel Paris
Arc de Triomphe.
Another Lausanne graduate,
Christophe Laure, has left
InterContinental after fifteen
years, to become the General Manager of the Hyatt La Manga, in Spain. Laure recently served as General Manager of
the InterContinental
Malta, following a stint as Hotel
Manager at Paris’ Grand Hotel
InterContinental.
Marcos
Bekhit, Regional Vice
President for Four Seasons, will now be
based out of the new 170-room Four Seasons Bosphorus in Istanbul, as
opposed to his previous home, the original Four Seasons
Istanbul. His successor
at the Four Seasons Istanbul is Tarek Mourad, whose
experience with Four Seasons includes a stint as Hotel Manager at the Four
Seasons
Riyadh and one as
Director of Rooms at the Four Seasons Cairo.
Jan
Chovanec has returned to
Swissôtel/Raffles International as General
Manager of the Swissôtel Krasnye Holmy in Moscow. He
had left the fold for a two-year stint as opening General Manager of the
Conrad Indianapolis. Prior
Swissôtel assignments for Chovanec included the top spot at the Swissôtel
Bosphorus,
the Watergate
and the
Swissôtel Chicago.
Patrick
Carabin has been appointed General
Manager of the Sofitel Grand Sopot
in Poland. He was previously the Resident Manager of the Daewoo
Hotel in Hanoi and the Acting General
Manager at Le Méridien Amman.
Pep
Lozano has been
promoted by Ritz-Carlton to General
Manager of the former Abama hotel in
Tenerife. He spent many years at Ritz-Carlton’s Hotel Arts
Barcelona as Executive
Assistant Manager Food and Beverage and Director of Catering and Conference
Services. Lozano also served at the Ritz-Carlton Washington
DC.
Gregory
Maliassas has joined Chandris Hotels
& Resorts as General Manager of
their soon-to-open Thessaloniki Hotel. Maliassas was previously with
Sofitel, as Hotel Manager for the
Sofitel Los Angeles, Director of
Operations at the Sofitel Washington DC and Food and Beverage Director at the Sofitel
Athens.
Jean Pierre
Soutric returns to Four
Seasons as Director of Corporate and
Travel Industry Sales – Europe, based in Paris. He had recently briefly left the
company to join the pre-opening team at the Shangri-La Palais
d’Iena as Director of Sales and
Marketing, after being at the Four Seasons George Cinq
for eleven years, most recently as Senior Director of Marketing,
France.
Friederike
Lockau has been promoted to Director of
Sales and Marketing at the Four Seasons Prague, having joined the hotel a year ago. She was previously
the Director of Sales at the Four Seasons Dublin and has held various positions at the Four Seasons
Berlin and at the
Pierre.
Edwin Kramer transfers as Director of Food and Beverage to the
Four Seasons London. He was most
recently in the same position at the Four Seasons Damascus where he opened the hotel. Previously, he was with
Hyatt for nine years in the USA,
Caribbean, Spain and Egypt.
Max Binda is
the new Assistant Director of Rooms at the Mandarin Oriental Geneva. He
was most recently the Front Office Manager at the Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong.
ASIA AND THE
PACIFIC
Cornell graduate
Jennie Chua has been
promoted by Singapore’s Capital Land
Group to President
and Chief Executive Officer of the Ascott Group, the largest
international serviced residence owner-operator outside the United States with
over 19,500 serviced residence units in key cities of Asia Pacific, Europe and
the Gulf region. For the past four years, Chua had been the President and Chief
Executive Officer of Raffles Holdings Limited, another
subsidiary of Capital Land. She also served several years as General Manager of
Singapore’s legendary Raffles Hotel.
Henry
Gray has joined
Six Senses Resorts and Spas as Area General
Manager, overseeing the Evason Phuket and the
Evason Hideaway at Yao Noi.
Gray’s most recent role was that of General Manager of
Udaivilas for
Oberoi. That followed
more than twelve years with Amanresorts, notably as
Co-General Manager of Mahakua and
Amandari with wife
Char Gray.
Thomas Meier has been named Vice President, Operations for
Raffles Hotels and Resorts in
Singapore. A Lausanne graduate, Meier joined the company in 2000. He has
previously served as the Hotel Manager/General Manager at Raffles Hotel Le
Royal in Phnom Penh, before moving to
Singapore where he eventually assumed the position of General Manager at
Raffles The Plaza, as well as Area
General Manager for the company.
Matthew
Bailey has joined the Grand Wailea
Resort and Spa as Managing Director. He
comes from Resortquest Hawaii where
he was the Senior Vice President Operations. He previously served as Executive
Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Fandango
Resorts in Park City and as Vice
President and General Manager at the Sundance Resort, also in Utah.
Charles de
Foucault has left
Ritz-Carlton after nineteen
years to become the General Manager of the Leela Palace

Bruno
Cristol has been
promoted by Shangri-La to General
Manager of the Shangri-La Marina in Cairns, from
the position of Resident Manager at the Shangri-La Sydney (the former
ANA). Cristol
originally joined Shangri-La as Director of Food and Beverage at the
Shangri-La Kowloon. He had joined
from a stint at the Carlton InterContinental in Cannes,
following ten years with Hyatt International in
Australia.

Bierbaumer has been
appointed General Manager of the Traders Yangon. He had
origjnally joined the group in 1992 as Executive Chef of the Shangri-La
Golden Sands Resort in
Penang.
Richard Saul has been appointed General Manager of the JW
Marriott Jakarta, replacing Greg
Allan who has taken up his new
assignment at the Singapore Marriott. He was most recently the General Manager at the
Renaissance Harbour View in Hong
Kong.
The soon-to-open St. Regis
Singapore has appointed
Norwegian hotelier Yngvar Stray General Manager. He joined from the W
Seoul-Walker Hill and was
previously part of the management team that launched the St. Regis
Beijing.
Aditya Mata has been named Director - Development for Splendid
Hospitality Bangalore. Mata has
previously worked with Oberoi Hotels, Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza, InterContinental and Banyan Tree in India and Nepal.
Ed Brea is the new General Manager at Shangri-La's

in Beijing, the Pine Valley Golf Resort and Country Club and the LTI-Long Beach Hotel in Egypt. Phan Ing
Pai
transfers internally to replace Wiesmann.
Julian Moore has been appointed General Manager of the Alila
Villas Hadahaa in the Maldives, set to
open early next year. He previously held various positions at Le
Méridien in Melbourne, Phuket and
the Royal Mirage in Dubai. He is no
stranger to the Maldives where he has also served as Resident Manager of
Soneva Fushi Resort & Spa and,
most recently, General Manager of Coco Palm Dhunikolhu on the Baa Atoll.
Thiva Kesavan is the new General Manager at Alila
Jakarta. Prior to joining Alila, Thiva was the Property Manager
for Hotel 1929 and New Majestic Hotel, both in Singapore.
Urs Wuthrich
has been appointed as the opening General Manager of the Grand Mercure Sanya,
Hainan. For the past two years, he
served as General Manager at the Palms Country Club in Manila.
Axel Jarosch is the new General Manager at the
Fortress in Sri Lanka. He was most
recently the Resident Manager at the Constance Lémuria Resort in the Seychelles.
The Sheraton Utama
Hotel in Brunei has appointed Alex
Riva General Manager. A Lausanne
graduate, Riva was most recently the Deputy General Manager at Le Méridien
Kuala Lumpur.
Steven Berger has been named Resident Manager at the Alila
Cha-Am, in Thailand. His past
experience includes tenures at the Village Hotel in Cape Town's Spier Wine Estate and his most recent role as General Manager of the
Walmont Ambassador Hotel and
Gaborone International Convention Centre in Botswana.

Baldwin has joined the Sofitel Jin
Jiang Pudong Shanghai as Resident
Manager. He was most recently at the Xianglu Grand Hotel in China as the Executive Assistant Manager. He
previously served as General Manager at the Glade Springs

Susan
Richardson will be part of the opening
team at the St. Regis
Singapore, as Executive Assistant
Manager, Rooms. She transfers from the St. Regis San
Francisco, where she has been the
Director of Rooms. Richardson, who
used to be the Director of Housekeeping at the (former) Regent of Hong
Kong, also spent seven years at the
St. Regis New York as the Director
of Housekeeping.
The Excelsior Hong
Kong has appointed Matthew
Thomas Director of Food and Beverage.
Thomas comes from London where he was most recently at the Mandarin Oriental
Hyde Park as Food and Beverage Manager
after joining the property in 2002 as Restaurant Manager.
InterContinental Hotels
Group has appointed Dexter Chia
Vice President, Sales and Marketing,
Greater China Singapore. He has been with the company since 2005 most recently
as the Regional Director of Sales and Marketing, Greater China. He has
previously held regional sales and marketing positions at Shangri-La Hotels
and Resorts and Pan Pacific Hotel
and Resorts.
Suzette Deveau
has been appointed to the position of
Area Director of Marketing, Southern Asia and Korea for InterContinental
Resorts, based in Bali. She was most recently based at the
Four Seasons Shanghai, but returns
to Bali after an eleven-year absence, having originally been part of the
Ritz-Carlton opening
team.
David Campbell is the Director of Sales and Marketing
for the St. Regis
Singapore. He comes
from a similar post at the Westin Shanghai.
Frédéric Colin
will be the opening Executive Chef at
the St. Regis
Singapore. He successfully opened
the St. Regis Bora Bora, following
three years with André Balasz’
Hotels AB, as Executive Chef of the
Raleigh and Sunset
Beach.
Romuald
Feger will be promoted at the St.
Regis Bora Bora to Executive Chef,
taking over from Frédéric Colin.
Since September 2006, Feger has been the Chef de Cuisine at
Lagon, the Jean-Georges
Vongerichten restaurant at the St.
Regis Bora Bora. He previously served
in the kitchens at the Palais de La Méditerranée in Nice and Le Cirque in New York.
Joel Wilkinson is the new Executive Chef at the Alila
Cha-Am in Thailand. He previously
served at the Grosvenor House in
London, American Club in Singapore,
and most recently, Rosewood's
Jumby Bay in Antigua.
Sylvain Royer has moved as Executive Chef to the Novotel King
Power in Bangkok. He was most recently
in the same position at the Sofitel Thalassa Porticcio
for three years.
Penelope Williams has been appointed Executive Chef at the Alila
Manggis Bali. She had worked in Sydney
for the past twelve years, most recently as Head Chef for four years at Danks
Street Depot.
Christian Fogliani is the new Executive Chef at the Alila Ubud
Bali. He joins from the Huvafen
Fushi Resort in the Maldives. He has
previously worked at Albergo Zi Martino in Tuscany and Albergo Cittadella in Locarno, Switzerland. He first ventured to Asia in
2001, working at the Ana Mandara Resort in Vietnam.

Mike Nalborczyk is the new General Manager at the Hilton Dubai
Creek. He was previously based in
Australia, where he managed the Hilton Sydney and has also helmed the Hilton Melbourne
Airport and Hilton

Victor Louis
has been named General Manager of the Hilton Fujairah Resort. He has been with Hilton since 1996 and was most
recently the Director of Business Development for the Jeddah
Hilton.
Saeid
Heidari has been appointed General
Manager of the Doha Marriott. He
joined Marriott in 1992 and has held various positions for the company in
Frankfurt, Leipzig, Rostock and Dusseldorf.
Vincent
Arnaud returns to the
InterContinental Jordan as General
Manager. Previously he served as the Hotel Manager at the hotel for three years,
before moving to his most recent position in Beirut as General Manager at the
Crowne Plaza.
Pascal
Prigent has been appointed General
Manager of the Anahita Residences
and Villas in Mauritius. For the
past four years, he served as Group Operations Manager for Veranda
Resorts.
Brice Lunot is now in Mauritius at the Legends
Hotel as Resident Manager. Eric
Molle from the Sheraton
Morea is replacing Lunot as Front
Office Manager at Le Méridien Bora Bora.
Derrek
Anderson joins Hilton
Hotels in the new role of Vice
President, Finance for the Middle East and Africa, based in Dubai. Anderson
originally joined Hilton in 1999. He has had responsibility for regional
portfolios as Financial Controller for UK and Ireland, Area Financial Controller
for Middle East and Asia Pacific, and Regional Finance Director for South Asia,
Japan and Micronesia.
Gilles
Peillon has joined FST Jet
Tours in Casablanca as General Manager
for Morocco. Since 1989, he had been with the Hotel St. James et
d'Albany in Paris as General Manager.
Sébastien Oger comes from his
position as General Manager of sister property, the Auteuil Tour
Eiffel, to take over for
Peillon.
Tamer Labib rejoins as Director of Rooms at the Four Seasons
Cairo Nile Plaza. He has been with the company for seven years first at
the Four Seasons Cairo The First Residence then as the opening Front Office Manager at the Cairo
Nile Plaza in 2003.
Michiel Lugt has joined the Ritz-Carlton Bahrain as Assistant Director of Food and Beverage. He was most
recently in the same position at Peter Island on Tortola. He was previously based in Boston, holding
various food and beverage positions at the Four Seasons, the Ritz-Carlton and Le Méridien.
