THE AMERICAS

Peter Bowling has joined the One&Only Palmilla as Managing Director, taking over from Ed Steiner who is retiring. For the past four years, Bowling had been the General Manager at the nearby Capella Pedregal. He is the former General Manager of the Capella Castlemartyr in Ireland and Managing Director of Rosewood’s Jumby Bay. Bowling, who is an Englishman, is also a former General Manager of Cotton House and the Inn at Perry Cabin.

 

Mark Herron has been named General Manager at the Four Seasons Vail. He has been with the company since 1988, most recently as General Manager of the Four Seasons Whistler. Herron had previously overseen the Four Seasons Houston, the Four Seasons Biltmore Santa Barbara and the (former) Four Seasons Olympic.
Taking over from Mark Herron as General Manager of the Four Seasons Whistler is Peter Humig. He has been with the company since 1999, most recently as Hotel Manager of the Four Seasons Philadelphia. Humig is the former Director of Rooms at the Four Seasons Washington, D.C. and Resort Manager at the former Four Seasons Aviara.
Mandarin Oriental has named Jan Goessing Area Vice President and General Manager of the Mandarin Oriental New York, taking over from Rudy Tauscher who is leaving the company. Goessing was most recently the General Manager of the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok. He also served as General Manager of the (former) Kahala Mandarin Oriental and the Mandarin Oriental Washington, DC. As for Tauscher, who was the opening General Manager of the Mandarin Oriental New York ten years ago… he will be opening a brewpub in Manhattan.
At the Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas, Susanne Hatje, newly minted Group Director of Residences for the group, temporarily holds the fort for Rajesh Jhingon.

 

Brent Martin is back in the U.S. as General Manager of the Four Seasons Philadelphia. Since 2008, he had served as General Manager of the Four Seasons Koh Samui. He is the former Hotel Manager of the Beverly Wilshire and previously served as General Manager at the Sofitel Los Angeles for seven years.
Ed Gannon returns to Four Seasons as Hotel Manager at the Four Seasons Austin. He had previously worked at the Four Seasons Boston as Executive Chef from 1997 to 2003. He then went on to serve as General Manager of the Winnetu Oceanside Resort on Martha’s Vineyard and Resort Manager for Caneel Bay and Jumby Bay. Most recently, he had been the Hotel Manager of the Rosewood Sand Hill.
Christopher Werth has been promoted to Hotel Manager and joined the Four Seasons Silicon Valley. He was most recently the
Director of Rooms at the Four Seasons Houston.

 

Marco Zanolari has been promoted to Hotel Manager and joined the Four Seasons Miami. The Lausanne graduate was most recently at the Beverly Wilshire as Director of Food and Beverage and previously served in the same post for the Four Seasons Doha.

 

Bruce Flyer has been appointed General Manager at the Hyatt Regency Cincinnati. He was most recently overseeing the Hyatt Regency Toronto.

 

Bonnie Strome takes over from Bruce Flyer as General Manager at the Hyatt Regency Toronto. For the past seven years, she had served as Director of Rooms for the Park Hyatt Toronto.
Eugenia Simons is the new General Manager at On The Ave in New York. She was most recently the Hotel Manager for Kimpton Hotels at Eventi. She is the former Director of Operations at the W Hoboken and Director of Rooms at the W Times Square.

 

The Hyatt Regency Greenwich has named Shaheryar Adil General Manager. He was most recently the interim General Manager at the Hyatt Bellevue in Philadelphia.

 

The B Ocean Fort Lauderdale has named Eduardo Fernandez General Manager. He is the former General Manager of the W South Beach. At the B, he takes over from Joel Darr.

 

Michael Carsch has joined the Grand Heritage Hotel Group as Regional General Manager. He was most recently with the Sutton Place Chicago as General Manager. He is the former General Manager of the Sax Chicago and the Thompson Beverly Hills.
Vincent Piro has joined Sage Hospitality in Denver as Division Vice President of Operations for their Premier and Lifestyle portfolio. He is the former Regional Vice President of Operations and General Manager for Millenium Hotels. He also spent five years as Area General Manager for the Viceroy Hotel Group.

 

Tropicana Entertainment in Las Vegas has named Tony Rodio President and Chief Executive Officer, taking over from Daniel Ninivaggi. He most recently served the company as President and Chief Operating Officer.
Cornell grad Arthur Keith has joined the Doubletree by Hilton Orlando at SeaWorld as Area Managing Director and General Manager. He was most recently with the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas as General Manager. He was previously with American Casino & Entertainment Properties as President/General Manager and with Gaylord Entertainment as Senior Vice President/General Manager.

 

Reginald Archambault is now in Philadelphia as General Manager of the Rittenhouse, taking over from Cornell grad David Benton who managed the property since its inception. Archambault was most recently at the Luxe Sunset as General Manager, following a three-year stint as Resident Manager of the Hotel Bel-Air.

Josh Littman has been named Director of Development for Hard Rock Hotels & Casinos in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He was previously with AECOM.

 

Eddie Lynn has been promoted to Director of Operations for Hard Rock Casinos. He was previously General Manager of the Casino in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana. In addition, Sal Rivera joins the team as Regional Director of Operations for Latin America.

 

Jess Jorge Chavez-Muñoz takes over from Eddie Lynn as General Manager of the Casino in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana. He was most recently serving as Casino Director at the InterContinental Puerto Rico and is the former General Manager of the Crowne Plaza Casino, Tilley Entertainment in Venezuela.
Andrew Stegen has joined the Ravella at Lake Las Vegas as General Manager. He was most recently the General Manager of the Arizona Biltmore. He is the former Executive Assistant Manager at the Loews Santa Monica Beach Resort and the Loews Coronado Beach Hotel.

 

David Kirken takes over from Andrew Stegen as General Manager at the Arizona Biltmore. Kirken was most recently serving as Director of Operations at La Quinta Resort  & Spa.
Alex Tonarelli has been promoted to General Manager at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel. He joined the resort in 2000, most recently serving as Hotel Manager. He had previously served in sales positions at the Doral Golf and Spa Resort Miami and the Fontainebleau Hilton.
Rosewood Mayakoba has named Graeme Davis Managing Director. He was most recently a Vice President Operations at Starwood Hotels & Resorts. He is the former General Manager at the Westin St. John Resort and Villas and the Fiesta Americana Coral Beach Resort.

 

Al Ferrone has been appointed Vice President of Hospitality at Caesars Entertainment. He had previously served as Senior Corporate Director of Food and Beverage Operations at Hilton Worldwide.

 

Keith Hill has been named General Manager at the Timber Cove Inn in Sonoma County. He had previously served in food and beverage posts with Twin Farms, the Chanler at Cliff Walk and the Ahwahnee Hotel.

 

Frank Leone has been appointed General Manager for the MileNorth in Chicago. He comes from the post of General Manager of the Silversmith Hotel & Suites, also in Chicago.

 

Shai Zelering has joined the Thayer Lodging Group as Senior Vice President of Operations. For the past year, he had served as General Manager at the London West Hollywood. The Cornell graduate is the former General Manager of the London New York.

 

Edward Costa takes over from Shai Zelering as General Manager at the London West Hollywood. He was most recently serving as
General Manager at the Hilton Boston Downtown.
Grady Colin has been promoted to General Manager and joined the Hilton Boston Downtown, taking over from Costa. Colin was most recently overseeing food and beverage for the Hilton New York. He is the former Director of Food & Beverage at the Waldorf=Astoria.

 

The Beverly Wilshire has appointed Thomas Krooswijk Director of Food and Beverage, taking over from Marco Zanolari. Krooswijk had been in food and beverage at the Pierre and the Four Seasons Dublin. He then moved to Thompson Hotels to oversee food and beverage at the Roosevelt Hollywood and, most recently, the Thompson Toronto.
Vinod Narayan has been promoted to Director of Food and Beverage and joined the Ritz-Carlton Chicago. Most recently, he had served as Assistant Director of Food and Beverage at the Four Seasons New York.

 

Koji Akaboshi has been promoted to Director of Food and Beverage at the Four Seasons Atlanta. He was most recently Assistant Director of Food and Beverage at the Four Seasons Jackson Hole.

 

The Fairmont Georgetown has named Lino Rodrigues Director of Food and Beverage. He was most recently serving as Assistant Director of Food and Beverage and Director of Banquets at the Fairmont Royal York. He is the former Director of Food and Beverage for the Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin.

 

Jonathan Jerusalmy is now at Sea Island as Director of Culinary. He was most recently with the St. Regis Atlanta as Executive Chef. He is the former Executive Sous Chef for the St. Regis Resort Monarch Beach.

 

Adam Greiner has joined the Historic Stone House Inn in Pennsylvania as General Manager. He was most recently serving as Director of Food and Beverage for the Chatham Bars Inn. Greiner is the former Director of Food and Beverage for the Greenbrier and the Nemacolin Woodlands.

 

Puerto Rico’s El Conquistador Resort has named Gamal El Fakih Director of Food and Beverage. El Fakih most recently served as Executive Assistant Manager of Food and Beverage at the Institute of Tourism and Hospitality of Québec.

 

Uwe Roehricht has joined the Reefs Hotel and Club in Bermuda as Director of Food and Beverage. He is the former Director of Food and Beverage at the Hilton Pittsburgh.

 

Martin Lowery has joined Sony Pictures as Senior Vice President of Leadership and Organizational Development. He was most recently serving as Chief Learning Officer at the Apollo Group in Scottsdale, following a twenty-seven year career with Hilton and Hilton International.

 

Mary Crisman Portobanco has been named Director of Human Resources for the Hotel Contessa in San Antonio. She was previously the Director of Human Resources for Barceló Hotels & Resorts.

 

The Setai Miami Beach has named David Casey Director of Sales and Marketing. He had previously served in sales and marketing positions with Expedia Cruise Ship Centers, the Mohegan Sun, and Hyatt Hotels.

 

Andrew Neubauer returns to Ritz-Carlton as Director of Sales and Marketing at the Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation. He had previously served in sales and marketing positions for the company from 1992-2002. Most recently, he was with Starwood Hotels & Resorts as Director of Sales and Marketing at the Sheraton Nassau Beach Resort, after serving five years at the Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa as Director of Group Sales.

 

Denihan Hospitality has appointed Julie Purnell Senior Vice President Acquisitions and Development, based in San Francisco. She is the former Vice President, Hotel Development at Marriott International, Loews Hotels and House of Blues.

 

Ray Montoya has joined the Luxe City Center Hotel in Los Angeles as Director of Finance. He previously served nine years as Controller at Chateau Marmont.

 

Kate Jerkens has joined the W Los Angeles as Director of Sales and Marketing. She was most recently with the JRK Hotel Group as Vice President Sales and Marketing. She is a former Director of Sales and Marketing for the Kor Group.
Jeremy Keller has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing at the Avalon in Beverly Hills. He had previously served in sales positions for the Viceroy Hotel Group and the Beverly Hilton.

 

Kasia Bronisz has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing for the newly re-branded Mandarin Oriental Atlanta, taking over from Rosewood’s Beth Allen. Bronisz was most recently the Director of Sales and Marketing for the Mandarin Oriental Prague. She is a former Area Director of Sales and Marketing for Kimpton Hotels and Associate Director of Sales for the Park Hyatt Washington, D.C.

 

Dan Egan has moved to the InterContinental Magnificent Mile in Chicago as Director of Sales and Marketing. He was most recently in the same post at the Westin Chicago River North. Egan had previously overseen sales and marketing for the Westin St. Francis, the Westin Chicago North Shore and the Marriott O’Hare.

 

Ellen Thornton has joined Orient Express at El Encanto as Director of Sales. She joins Ali Kasikci who was her Managing Director at the Montage Beverly Hills where she was the Director of Sales for four years.

 

Pauletta Kaufman has been named Director of Global Sales at the Morgans Hotel Group. She had previously served in sales positions with Altour, Ritz-Carlton, Royal Caribbean and Crystal Cruises.

 

Matt Leavitt is Director of Revenue Management at El Conquistador Resort. Previously, he was the Director of Revenue Management at the Hilton Los Cabos Beach and Golf Resort.

 

Carrie Eagle has been named Executive Chef for Dunton Hot Springs. She was most recently serving as Banquet Chef for the Hotel Andaluz.

 

William Douillet is now overseeing Sixteen at Trump Chicago as General Manager. For the past two years, he had been at Grant AchatzNext managing the restaurant and serving as Sommelier. He is a previous General Manager of the (late) Daniel Boulud Brasserie at Wynn Las Vegas.

 

Matthias Layton has been promoted to Director of Restaurants at the Eldorado Hotel & Spa. He was most recently a Banquet Manager for the resort.
Eric Giberson takes over from Bonnie Strome as Rooms Director at the Park Hyatt Toronto. He had served in rooms positions at the Hyatt Regency Calgary, Park Hyatt Toronto and the Grand Cypress in Orlando.

 

El Conquistador Resort has named Jennifer Findlay Spa Director. She most recently served as Spa Director at the W Retreat & Spa Vieques Island.

 

 

EUROPE

 

Justin Pinchbeck is the new General Manager of London’s Berkeley, taking over from Klaus Kabelitz. Pinchbeck was most recently the Hotel Director at Lime Wood. He had previously served at the Grosvenor House, for Firmdale Hotels and as General Manager of the Zetter in London. Kabelitz left the Berkeley after nine years to join the Dorchester Collection as General Manager of Le Richemond in Geneva.

 

Thomas Fischer has been named General Manager of the Corinthia Budapest. He was most recently the General Manager at the Kempinski Gravenbruch in Frankfurt.

 

Marc Ohlendorf is the new General Manager for the Swissôtel Krasnye Holmy Moscow. He was most recently overseeing the Swissôtel Zurich.

 

Torsten Pinter takes over from Marc Ohlendorf as General Manager of the Swissôtel Zurich. He was most recently the General Manager at the Swissôtel Nai Lert Park in Bangkok.

 

Stephan Li has moved to the Shangri-La London as Financial Controller. For the past three years, he had served as Director of Finance for the Shangri-La Paris.

 

Kevin Chambenoit has been promoted to Director of Food and Beverage at the Hotel Le Bristol in Paris. He joined the hotel in 2010 as Assistant Director of Food and Beverage. He had previously held food and beverage posts with the Shangri-La Paris and the Shangri-La Singapore.
Jose Ramirez has been promoted to Director of Human Resources and joined the Four Seasons London.  He was most recently with the Four Seasons Doha as Assistant Director of Human Resources.

 

The Four Seasons St. Petersburg has appointed Tanja Pijfers Director of Sales and Marketing. The Lausanne graduate has served in sales and marketing posts with the Four Seasons Caracas and the Four Seasons Gresham Palace in Budapest.

 

Andrea Accordi has been appointed Executive Chef at the Four Seasons St. Petersburg. Most recently the Executive Chef at the Four Seasons Prague, he is the former Executive Chef of the Hotel Villa la Vedetta Firenze and Executive Sous Chef at the Hotel Laudinella St. Moritz.

 

 

ASIA AND THE PACIFIC

 

William Scott has been promoted Resident Director of Diaoyutai MGM Hospitality and Resident Director for MGM China Holdings Limited. He joined MGM Resorts in 2009 and was promoted to Executive Vice President – Corporate Strategy and Special Counsel – in 2010.  He was previously a partner in the Los Angeles office of Sheppard, Mullin, Richter and Hampton.

 

Abid Butt has been named Chief Executive Officer for Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts. He was most recently serving as Vice President Asset Management at Host Marriott. Butt had previously served Banyan Tree as Vice President Operations and Area General Manager. He is the former General Manager of Hawaii’s Turtle Bay Resort.

 

The Four Seasons Koh Samui has promoted Lubosh Barta to General Manager, taking over from Brent Martin. Barta had joined the resort in 2010 as Resort Manager. He is the former Resort Manager at the Four Seasons Chiang Mai and Director of Food and Beverage of the Four Seasons Bangkok.

 

The Mandarin Oriental Bangkok has named Amanda Hyndman General Manager, taking over from Jan Goessing. Hyndman joined the company in 2007 as General Manager of the Excelsior, Hong Kong, before taking on her most recent post as General Manager of the Mandarin Oriental Washington, D.C.
Jeremy Aniere has joined Shangri-La’s Kerry Hotel Beijing as General Manager. He was most recently the Resident Manager for the Island Shangri-La Hong Kong. He is the former Resident Manager of the Makati Shangri-La Manila and Director of Food and Beverage for the Pudong Shangri-La.
The Modern Honolulu has named Vittal Calamur General Manager. He is the former opening Executive Assistant Manager for the Keating by Pininfarina. Most recently, Calamur was the Director of Transitions and New Opening for Solage Hotels & Resorts.

 

The Pan Pacific Hotels Group has named Craig Bond Area General Manager, Oceania, also serving as General Manager of the ParkRoyal Darling Harbour Sydney. He was previously served as General Manager of the Sebel & Citigate Albert Park Melbourne and Regional General Manager with Mirvac Hotels & Resorts.

 

Hans Weger has been appointed Chief Financial Officer for Outrigger, replacing Melvyn Wilinsky who has retired after nineteen years with Outrigger. Weger is a former Chief Financial Officer, Executive Vice President and Treasurer of LaSalle Hotel Properties. He had served in various development posts with La Quinta Inns and Harrah’s Entertainment. Most recently, he was with STAG Industrial.

 

Dean Seo has moved to the Raffles & Fairmont Makati in Manila as Director of Food and Beverage. He was most recently with the Peninsula Manila as Director of Food and Beverage. Seo is the former Director of Food and Beverage of the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows, the Ritz-Carlton Jakarta and the Mandarin Oriental Macau.

 

Anthony Freda has moved to the Westin Maui Resort and Spa as Director of Food and Beverage. He was most recently with the Kapalua Villas as Resort Manager. He is the former Director of Food and Beverage at the Four Seasons Resort Lana’i, the Four Seasons Miami and the Four Seasons Atlanta.

 

Sébastien Ehret has been named Director of Food and Beverage at the InterContinental Shanghai Expo. He was previously overseeing food and beverage at the One&Only Le Saint Géran Mauritius.

 

Marisa Aranha has joined the Soneva Group as Managing Director Sales and Marketing, based in Bangkok. She was most recently the Vice President of Sales for the Minor Hotel Group Thailand with responsibility for the global sales strategy for Anantara Hotels.

 

Lisa DeCambra has joined the Modern Honolulu as Director of Sales and Marketing. She had formerly overseen sales and marketing at the Royal Hawaiian and the Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort.

 

Michael Howe has been named Director of Catering Sales and Convention Services at the Modern Honolulu. He is the former Director of Catering Sales and Convention Services at the Royal Hawaiian and Assistant Director of Catering and Conference Services at the Four Seasons Resorts Lana’i.
Joy Tomita has been appointed Director of Leisure and Corporate Sales at the Modern Honolulu. She is a former Sales Manager for Halekulani, the Waikiki Parc Hotel and the Oahu Visitors Bureau.

 

Bridget Griffiths has been appointed Associate Director of Sales for Hayman in the Great Barrier Reef, based in Sydney. She had previously served in sales positions for the Dorchester and the InterContinental Sydney. Most recently, she was in the sales office at the Four Seasons Sydney.

 

Peter Chan has been named Executive Chef for Silks’ in the Crown Melbourne. Most recently, Chan was the Executive Chef of Wing Lei located at Wynn Macau.

 

Cyril Arrouard is now in Shanghai at the Mandarin-Oriental Pudong as Executive Chef. He was most recently in the same post for the Ritz-Carlton Beijing Financial Street. He is the former Executive Sous Chef at the Ritz-Carlton Jakarta and Executive Chef at the Le Royal Méridien Abu Dhabi and the Hilton Rabat.

Conny Andersson moves to the MGM Grand Ho Tram in Vietnam as Executive Chef. For the past two years, he had been in a similar post at the Datai Langkawi. He is the former Executive Chef at Sandy Lane on Barbados, the Beverly Wilshire and the Four Seasons Los Angeles at Beverly Hills.

 

 

Nikolaj Retpen has been appointed Executive Chef at the W Retreat & Spa Maldives. He had previously worked at the resort from 2006 to 2008 before serving in culinary posts for the Sheraton Full Moon Resort & Spa Maldives and the Laguna Resort & Spa, Bali.

 

Soren Lascelles has joined the Park Hyatt Saigon as Chef de Cuisine for Square One. Most recently, he was the Head Chef at Warren Turnbull‘s Assiette in Sydney.

 

Philip Salud has been promoted to Director of Rooms and moved to the Four Seasons Bali at Jimbaran Bay. The Cornell graduate has been with the company since 2003, most recently as Assistant Director of Rooms at the Four Seasons Jackson Hole.

 

 

MIDDLE EAST AND AFRICA

 

John Rees has been named Area Director of Operations for Marriott International/Ritz-Carlton Hotels, based in Dubai. He was most recently with the InterContinental Festival City as Executive Assistant Manager.

 

Mövenpick Al Bida’a Kuwait has appointed Maged Gubr General Manager. He was most recently the General Manager of the Mövenpick Jeddah.

 

The Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi and Traders Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri has promoted Ahmed Issa to Resident Manager. He was most recently serving the hotels as Executive Assistant Manager – Food and Beverage.
Nathalie Cockayne has joined the Monarch Dubai as Director of Operations. She was most recently the Director of Rooms for the Island Shangri-La. She is the former Director of Rooms at the Fairmont Beijing and the Savoy London.

 

The Four Seasons Alexandria at San Stefano has promoted Moataz Madany to Director of Food and Beverage. Since 2011, he had served as Assistant Director of Food and Beverage for the hotel. He had previously held food and beverage positions at the Four Seasons Cairo at First Residence and the Four Seasons Cairo at Nile Plaza.

 

Patrice Cornee takes over from Ahmed Issa as Executive Assistant Manager – Food and Beverage for the Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi and Traders Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri. He was most recently in a similar post for the Island Shangri-La Hong Kong. He had previously overseen food and beverage at the Hyatt Regency Incheon and the Hyatt Regency Macau.

 

The Traders Hotel Dubai has appointed Mohamed Taher Director of Sales and Marketing. Taher was most recently the Director of Sales for the Shangri-La Dubai.

 

Shereen Ghandour has joined the Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi and Traders Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri as Director of Sales and Marketing. She was previously overseeing sales and marketing for the JW Marriott Cairo.

 

The Yas Viceroy Abu Dhabi has appointed Jennie Lorenzo Chef de Cuisine for Nautilus. Lorenzo is the former Executive Chef at Fifth Floor in the Hotel Palomar in San Francisco and Executive Sous Chef at Ame in the St. Regis San Francisco.

 

Karim Hassene has been appointed Executive Chef at One&Only Le Saint Géran. He is the former Executive Chef at the Leela Kempinski, Udaipur.

 

Le Royal Méridien Abu Dhabi has appointed Pierre-Olivier Petit Executive Chef. He is the former Executive Sous Chef at the Mina Seyahi Complex and the Hyatt Regency Casablanca.
