THE AMERICAS

Olivier Chavy has joined RCI Exchanges as President. Most recently, he had served as Chief Executive Officer at Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts. Chavy was also the CEO of Wilson Associates.

For the third time in 14 years, Bill Doak has returned to Santa Monica-based JRK Hotel Group as President. He spent the past 7 years as 1st Vice President of the CIM Group, following a 4-year stint as General Manager of the Loews Santa Monica. He also was the Hotel Manager and Director of Marketing of the Beverly Wilshire.

Gary Schweikert takes over from Bill Doak as 1st Vice President of the CIM Group. Schweikert previously served as Head of Americas for Grace Hotels, now part of Auberge Resorts. Schweikert coincidentally was also the GM of a property that he will now asset-manager, namely the Dominick, formerly known as the Trump Soho. 

Michael Fruin has been appointed Vice President of Operations at Sonesta International Hotels for Sonesta ES Suites. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President, Franchise Services, for Choice Hotels International.

Joe Ogdie has been appointed General Manager at The Lodge at Blue Sky. Previously, he served as Interim General Manager at Calistoga Ranch, and, prior to that, as Director of Operations and Director of Food and Beverage at Solage.

Gabriel Castrillon has moved to the Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort Spa & Casino, as General Manager. He has been with Hyatt for over 30 years, most recently as General Manager at the Hyatt Regency Miami.

Norbert Mede has been named General Manager at Heritage House Resort & Spa. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President of the Pivot Agency and is the former General Manager of Dunton Hot Springs and Dunton River Camp in Colorado.

Hudson Yards newly created Related Restaurant Group has named Ron Parker Chief Executive Officer. He is the former Chief Operating Officer of Union Square Hospitality Group where he worked for more than 14 years.

Matthew Bailey has joined the Carmel Valley Ranch as Managing Director, replacing Giuseppe Lama. Bailey was most recently the President and Chief Operating Officer at Aqua Hospitality. He is the former Chief Operating Officer at Aston Hotels & Resorts and Managing Director at the Grand Wailea Resort Hotel & Spa.

The Kimpton Canary Santa Barbara has named Ben Thiele General Manager. He has been with Kimpton for nearly 15 years, with the past four years as General Manager of the Palladian Seattle.

Corey Sanders has moved as Chief Financial Officer at MGM Resorts. He was most recently serving the company as Chief Operating Officer.  Sanders is the former Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of MGM Grand Resorts and Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of MGM Grand Las Vegas. Bill Hornbuckle will expand his role as President to take over from Sanders as Chief Operating Officer of MGM Resorts.

Timbers Resorts has named Ryan Bell Director of Asset Management. He was most recently the Director of Asset Management for CNL Lifestyle Properties.

Karen Chastain has been named General Manager of the Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino. She was most recently the General Manager of the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort and Spa.

Joelle Shearin has joined the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe as General Manager and President. She was most recently Vice President and General Manager at the Argosy Casino Alton.

María Florencia Arenaza is the new General Manager of Los Sueños Marriott Ocean & Golf Resort. She had previously overseen the Four Points by Sheraton Montevideo, the Sheraton Colonia Golf and Spa Resort, and the Westin Resort and Spa Cancun.

Lindsay Jarvis has been named General Manager of the Hyatt Place Grand Rapids/Downtown, opening this summer. She was most recently with the Amway Grand Plaza as Director of Front Office.

Carlos Carreon has moved as General Manager to the Thompson Zihuatanejo. He was most recently the Hotel Manager at sister property the Thompson Playa del Carmen.

Steven Adyani has been appointed General Manager of The Guild Hotel in San Diego. He was most recently the Vice President Operations for Gordon Ramsay Restaurants.

Cristiano Buono has joined the Austin Proper Hotel & Residences as General Manager. He was most recently the General Manager
 of the Ritz-Carlton Residences Miami Beach.

Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants has named Matthew Hurlburt Area Director of Operations, New York and Pennsylvania, and General Manager of the Kimpton Muse Hotel in Manhattan. He is the former General Manager of the Hotel Monaco Alexandria, and Area Director of Hotel Operations Mid-Atlantic Region.

Stephen Power has moved to the W Los Angeles – West as General Manager, taking over from James Wroblewski. Power was most recently the Director of Operations at the SLS Los Angeles at Beverly Hills. He is the former Director of Food and Beverage at the Beverly Wilshire.

Jared Williams has been appointed General Manager at the Canvas Hotel Dallas. Williams is the former General Manager of the Highland Dallas.

Keith Butz has been named Area Managing Director at the Omni Atlanta Hotel at CNN Center. Most recently, Butz was the General Manager at The Confidante Hotel in Miami.

Adam Heffron is now in Utah as General Manager at the Waldorf Astoria Park City. He was most recently the Hotel Manager at the Conrad New York.

Karl Kruger has been named Managing Director of the South Coast Winery Resort & Spa and the Carter Estate Winery and Resort. He was most recently the General Manager of the Renaissance Las Vegas.

James Moore has been appointed General Manager of the Havana Cabana in Key West. He was most recently at the Hilton Garden Inn Key West as Hotel Manager.

Jeff Swirsky has been named Regional Director of Hotel Operations with AD1 Global.  He was most recently the General Manager of the Holiday Inn Resort Orlando Lake Buena Vista and the former General Manager at the Floridays Resort Orlando.

Jonathan Bartlett has joined the Pan Pacific Hotel Seattle as General Manager. He was most recently with the Hutton Hotel Nashville as Managing Director.

Nick Teeson has been appointed General Manager at the Battery Wharf Hotel, taking over from Peter Sula. Teeson was most recently the Director of Operations at the Charles Hotel in Cambridge.

Feliks Schwartz has been appointed General Manager at the Hilton Charlotte University Place. He was most recently the General Manager at the Westin Richmond.

The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort has named Robert Allen Hotel Manager. He was most recently the General Manager of the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown Hotel.

Rick Fidel has been named Resort Manager at the Rosewood Miramar Beach Montecito. He is the former Director of Operations
at the
W HotelHoboken and Director of Rooms
at the St. Regis Atlanta.

Khalid Mirza has joined the Four Seasons Houston as Director of Food and Beverage. He is the former Director of Food and Beverage at Carmel Valley Ranch and the Resort at Pelican Hill. 

Nicholas Katz has been appointed Director of Food and Beverage at the Adolphus Hotel Dallas. He was previously Director of Restaurant Operations at Headington Companies, overseeing pre-opening of Wheelhouse, Sassetta, Go Go, and the Commissary in Dallas.

Anna Corrine Barrett has returned to the Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa to take on the new role of Director of Food and Beverage. She had previously served in food and beverage roles for the resort. She is the former General Manager Food and Beverage for the Napa Valley Wine Train and Food and Beverage Manager for The Nautical Beachfront Resort in Lake Havasu City.

Christian Philippo has joined the Nomad Los Angeles as Director of Food and Beverage. He was most recently in the same role at the Chateau Marmont. Philippo is the former General Manager at Otium, Redbird, and Republique all in Los Angeles.

Jaap Boelens has been promoted to Director of Food and Beverage at the InterContinental Mark Hopkins in San Francisco. He was most recently serving as Food and Beverage Operations Manager. Boelens is the former Assistant Director of Food and Beverage at the InterContinental San Francisco.

Mike Paneri has joined Montage International as Executive Vice President of Design and Construction. He was most recently with the Viceroy Hotel Group as Senior Vice President of Hotel Development.

Damon Kolb has joined Timbers Resorts as Development Manager. He was most recently with Mill Creek Residential as Vice President of Development.

Mary Beth O’Connor has joined The Pierre as Director of Sales and Marketing. She was most recently with sbe Lifestyle Hospitality as Vice President of Global Sales and Regional Director of Sales and Marketing.

Carol Peach has joined the Rosewood Miramar Beach Montecito as Director of Sales and Marketing. She was most recently in the same role at the Inn at Perry Cabin and Links at Perry Cabin. Peach is the former Director of Sales and Marketing at the Hollywood Roosevelt, the Omni Hotel Houston Westside, and the Westin San Francisco Market Street.

Mary-Catherine Moore has joined the Shinola Hotel as Director of Events and Catering. She was most recently Assistant Director of Events at The William Vale in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

Rob Roche has moved up the coast to the Belmond El Encanto as Director of Sales and Marketing. He was most recently in the same position at the Peninsula Beverly Hills. 

Kasia Bronisz has moved over as pre-opening Director of Sales and Marketing at the Riggs Washington, D.C., slated to open later this year. She was most recently in the same role at the Park Hyatt Washington, D.C. 

Yina Javier has been promoted to Director of Sales and Marketing at the Chatwal New York. Javier joined the hotel in 2016 as Director of Corporate Sales and Marketing.

Jerri Lyn Walker has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing at the newly rebranded Thompson Zihuatanejo. She was in the same role through the transition from the Villa del Sol Resort Zihuatanejo to Thompson.

Marisol Lopez has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing at the CANVAS Hotel Dallas. She was most recently the Hotel Manager at NYLO Dallas South Side.

Dan Boyer has joined the Omni Oklahoma City Hotel as Director of Sales and Marketing. Most recently, Boyer was Director of Sales and Marketing at the Sheraton Grande Phoenix Hotel.

Jessica Cook has joined The Lodge at Blue Sky in Park City as Director of Sales and Marketing. She was most recently the Director of Sales at The Ranch at Rock Creek. Cook is the former Director of Sales – West Coast, North America for Aman Resorts and Director of Sales at the Amangiri and Amangani.

Nathan Decker has been named Area Director of Leisure Sales at The Lodge at Blue Sky, slated to open in May. He was most recently the Director of Sales for The Resort at Paws Up in Montana.

Edward Goff has been appointed Vice President and Corporate Director of Revenue for Westmont Hospitality Group. Goff spent 13 years at Hyatt, most recently as Corporate Director of Revenue Management.

Michael Treanor has been appointed Executive Chef at the Montage Beverly Hills, taking over from Patrice Martineau. Treanor was most recently at the Ritz-Carlton Reynolds, Lake Oconee as Executive Sous Chef. He is the former Chef de Cuisine at the Ritz-Carlton Atlanta and Banquet Chef at Wolfgang Puck at the Hotel Bel-Air.

Brooke Mallory has been appointed Executive Chef at the Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale. She was most recently Executive Sous Chef at 3030 Ocean also in Fort Lauderdale.

Miguel Baltazar has been named Executive Chef at the Thompson Zihuatanejo. He is the former Executive Sous Chef at Esperanza and Amanyara.

Joe Lambert has been named Executive Chef at the Thompson Chicago. Since 2013 he had been in various roles Nico Osteria.

Gustavo Rios has returned to Solbar at Solage to take on the role of Executive Chef. Rios had previously served the resort as Executive Sous Chef before moving over to open Evangeline in Calistoga with Chef Brandon Sharp.

Chad Bayless has returned to the InterContinental Mark Hopkins to take on the new role of Executive Chef. He had previously served the hotel as Executive Sous Chef before moving into his most recent role as Executive Chef at the Crowne Plaza San Jose/Silicon Valley.

Alex Robinson has been appointed Executive Chef at the Royal Palms Resort and Spa in Arizona. He was most recently with the Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel as Executive Sous Chef. Robinson is the former Chef de Cuisine at the Four Seasons Boston and Sous Chef at the Four Seasons Denver.

Jason Paluch has been appointed Director of Spa & Wellness at the Mandarin Oriental Boston. He was most recently in the same position at the former Mandarin Oriental Atlanta.

 

EUROPE

Lars Wagner has joined the Hôtel Beau-Rivage Genève as General Manager. For the past six years, he served in the same capacity at the Mandarin Oriental Geneva and the Mandarin Oriental Munich.

Martin Schrödl has been appointed General Manager at the MAXX by Steigenberger Hotel Vienna. He is the former Regional Director of Sales and Marketing for Austria and Eastern Europe for Deutsche Hospitality.

Gregory de Clerck has been named General Manager at the Ritz-Carlton Abama in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain. He was most recently at Marriott’s Al Manara Hotel in Jordan as Complex General Manager.

David Grossniklaus has been named Head of Operations and Development at YOO in London. He was most recently with Belmond as Senior Director Development for the Middle East, Africa and India.

Campbell Gray Hotels has appointed Olivier Gerber General Manager at the soon-to-open Alex, Lake Zurich. He was most recently the Director of Sales and Marketing at Badrutt’s Palace Hotel, St Moritz.

Heather Laverne has been appointed Vice President – Customer Engagement, Loyalty and Partnerships EMEA, at Hilton International. For the past 13 years, she had been in various roles at American Express, most recently as Vice President, International Premium Products.

Cyrielle Castelli has returned to hospitality as Director of Human Resources for Cheval Blanc Paris. She was previously in a similar role for the La Réserve Ramatuelle Hotel, Spa & Villas and La Réserve Paris Hotel and Spa before moving into her most recent role as Director of Human Resources for Sephora.

Rolf Hinze has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing at Dusit International in Germany. He had previously overseen regional sales for Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts, Six Senses Hotels & Resorts, and Minor Hotels.

Anthony Vale has joined Dusit International as Director of Sales and Marketing, United Kingdom. He had served in similar roles with Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts.

Marcus Klumb has taken over from Armand Sablon as Executive Chef at the Hotel Café Royal London. Klumb was most recently the Executive Sous Chef at the Four Seasons Ten Trinity Square.

 

ASIA AND THE PACIFIC

David Ippersiel has moved as Complex General Manager overseeing the Boracay Gateway Marriott Resort & Spa, the Courtyard by Marriott Boracay Gateway, and the Boracay Gateway Marriott Convention Center. He was most recently the General Manager of the Phuket Marriott Resort and Spa, Nai Yang Beach.

Silvio Rosenberger has joined the JW Marriott Hong Kong as General Manager. Since 2012, he had been with the JW Marriott Shanghai Tomorrow Square as General Manager.

Michael Hoevel has been named General Manager of the JW Marriott Zhengzhou. He was most recently with the Sheraton Shenzhou Peninsula and the Four Points by Sheraton Peninsula Hainan as Cluster General Manager.

Shaun O’Bryan is now in Australia as General Manager at the Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort in Hunter Valley. He is the former General Manager of the Belmond El Encanto and Manager of the Ojai Valley Inn and Spa.

Gerd Kotlorz has been appointed General Manager of the Phuket Marriott Resort and Spa, Nai Yang Beach, taking over from David Ippersiel. Kotlorz was most recently in Bangkok as Area Director of Sales & Distribution Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Myanmar for Marriott International.

Santiago Sagaz has joined the Soori Bali as General Manager. He was most recently the General Manager of the COMO Shambhala Estate and the Bulgari Resort, both in Bali.

Chi Ping Xu Ping has been named Hotel Manager of the Rosewood Beijing. He is the former Director of Culinary of Wanda Hotels and Resorts, Executive Chef at the Peninsula Beijing, and Executive Sous Chef at the Peninsula Shanghai.

Daniel Herrmann has been appointed Executive Assistant Manager at the Kempinski Hotel Yinchuan. He was most recently the Director of Food and Beverage at the Kempinski Hotel Beijing Lufthansa Center.

Graziano Vastola has been named Executive Manager – Food and Beverage Operations and Culinary – at the Galaxy Macau. He was most recently the General Manager at the Belon Oyster Bar & Grill
at Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts in Macau.

Maxim Baile has been named Executive Chef at 137 Pillars Suites & Residences. He was most recently the Chief Culinary Instructor at Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Institute Paris in Bangkok.

Francois Delaire has been appointed Executive Pastry Chef at the Peninsula Hong Kong. He is the former Head Pastry Chef of L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon in London, Robuchon au Dôme in Macau, and Rech by Alain Ducasse in Hong Kong.

 

MIDDLE EAST AND AFRICA

Chorten Wangyel has been named pre-opening General Manager at
 Kisawa Sanctuary in
 Benguerra Island, Mozambique, slated to open March 2020. He is the former General Manager of Dunmore and The Cove, both in the Bahamas.

Nicolas Messian has been appointed Hotel Manager at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi. He was most recently in a similar role at the Ritz-Carlton Toronto.

Matthew Barber has been appointed Director of Food and Beverage at the Four Seasons Doha. He had previously served as Director of Food and Beverage at the Four Seasons The Westcliff Johannesburg.

Nikhil Satwani has been named Director of Sales and Marketing at the Hyatt Regency Dubai & Galleria. He was most recently the Director of Sales at the Grand Hyatt Dubai. 

Thierry Metee has joined the 
Kempinski Hotel Ishtar Dead Sea as  
Executive Pastry Chef. He was most recently in the same role at the Four Seasons Casablanca.

Renald Epié has been appointed Executive Chef at the Fairmont Dubai. He was most recently the Executive Sous Chef at Atlantis, The Palm.

Evita Chidiac has been appointed Director of Rooms at Raffles Dubai. She was most recently in the same position at the Arlo Soho in New York City.
