Market update​​​
  • In July, employment in leisure and hospitality was little changed (+17,000).
  • The industry has shown little employment change in recent months, following average monthly gains of 67,000 in the first quarter of the year.
  • Employment in leisure and hospitality remains below its February 2020 level by 352,000, or 2.1 percent.

  • Deepak Mehra has been appointed as General Manager at Conrad Los Angeles. He will provide strategic management and direction to ensure guest satisfaction across all aspects of the resort, including operations, programming, community outreach, and food and beverage.
  • Viceroy Santa Monica and Le Meridien Delfina Santa Monica appoints Sietse Nabben as Area General Manager. He brings almost 25 years of global hotel management experience.
  • Mark Yanke named General Manager at Hotel Crescent Court. He will lead the hotel team and be responsible for managing the hotel's day-to-day success and overseeing all operational aspects of the 226-room property, including food & beverage, the Spa.
  • Sean Conway has been appointed as Executive Chef at Mar Monte Hotel in Santa Barbara. He will oversee the hotel's two restaurants, costa Kitchen & Bar and Café Lido, as well as other culinary initiatives on property from weddings and events.

  • Rebecca O'Brien has been appointed as Senior Sales Executive at New Orleans Marriott and Sheraton New Orleans. She will be responsible for generating group business from the mid-Atlantic markets.

  • Hiomara van den Boogaart has been appointed as General Manager at The Loren at Lady Bird Lake in Austin. She served as the Director of Food and Beverage at Davidson Hospitality, where she showcased her exceptional management abilities.

  • Nuno César de Sá named General Manager at Grantley Hall. He has nearly three decades of experience in the industry.
  • Choice Hotels EMEA appoints Marielle Vroemen as Director Franchise Performance & Revenue Management, EMEA. She will lead Choice Hotels EMEA's Franchisee Performance Department, which combines the company's revenue and operational expertise.
